[On the Boards]
Year(s): 2026-Present
Location: Harrisonburg, Virginia
Working on behalf of RAM Partners, Centripetal Works provided architectural design for new exterior amenities at The Mill apartment complex in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
To provide a shared space for the complex residents, many of which are college students at nearby James Madison University, the project includes a pair of interlocking circular plazas partially circumscribed by two smaller circular plazas with new fire pit areas and a square plaza that includes a new cedar pergola flanked by grilling stations for outdoor cooking. At the far end of one of the main plazas, a new entertainment wall features an alcove with a large 98 inch outdoor TV while the opposite side of the wall has a matching alcove with custom neon signage both of which are set on artificial green wall panels. The project includes a material pallet of cultured stone, concrete pavers, the cedar pergola, and stainless steel grill tops and custom cabinetry. The total project size is just under 2,000 square feet of new pervious area.
